Native Mainer Will Fellis has been designing high-end residences along the coast of Maine his entire career. The son of a builder, Will has a history of making and building in many forms. His design influences are informed by his travels—first in high school as a student ambassador to Italy, Austria, Switzerland, and France, and then later in college, when he studied abroad in Florence. Also among his influences are the architecture of E. Fay Jones as well as local agrarian vernacular architecture.

Will received his Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University School of Architecture in 2009 and was awarded for outstanding fifth-year thesis and had the distinction to participate in “Super Jury” at the University. Will has interned at architecture and engineering firms in Maine including WBRC Architects & Engineers and Roc Caivano Architects in Bar Harbor, where he later worked as a project manager for three years.

Since joining Whitten Architects in 2012, he has worked on a number of new homes, renovations, camps, and cabins. Will is a licensed architect in the State of Maine and a member of the American Institute of Architects. His favorite aspects of residential design include coordination with clients, contractors, and consultants alike to develop a comprehensive and cohesive design that is unique to each client and site.

Outside of the office, Will enjoys furniture design, woodworking, brewing beer, and exploring his native state and all of the beauty it has to offer.
