Just outside the downtown of Freeport sits an unlikely neighborhood abutting rich conservation land. We were tasked with undertaking the design of a substantial barn renovation, and creating an addition to accommodate one floor living. The challenge was to maintain the rustic integrity of the barn while also providing bright spaces in which to live.

The resulting site-specific design allows the old barn and refined farmhouse style addition to feel at home in the surrounding neighborhood Maine context.
