Designer Drew Bortles was introduced to the exciting world of design and construction at a young age. Both his father and grandfather were woodworkers and carpenters who shared their passion with Drew. Drew’s mother encouraged self-expression through painting and drawing as a way to promote his creative side. His passion for art, design, and construction led him to Interior Design.
Drew graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston Massachusetts with a degree in Interior Design. While in the Interior Design program, Drew focused his attention towards the technical aspects of design, material relationships and detail to simplicity. His attention to detail while making models, hand rendering or generating 3D computer models gave him the tools needed to perform as an intern at several award winning architecture firms around New England.
After graduating from college, Drew gained commercial design experience while working with one of Maine’s top commercial architectural firms. While there, Drew gained project experience in the design of a community center, hospitals, office spaces college campus buildings, and mill building renovations. This experience has given him the tools necessary to now expand his knowledge in the residential design field
When Drew is not designing, you can find him snowboarding, hiking in the mountains, camping, mountain biking, paddle boarding, woodworking or gardening. His passion for the outdoors has a direct link to his organic, and intricate approach to design.
