Designer

Designer Jerry Wasmer has had a passion for design from a young age. Whether drawing, painting, or building driftwood forts on the beach, he has always been engaged in creative projects. Growing up in New England and the Pacific Northwest instilled in him a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a commitment to creating a built environment that treads lightly on the land.

After relocating to Tennessee, Michigan, and Florida, Jerry was eager to return to New England with his family. He has a strong affinity for residential design, particularly local vernacular architecture, materials, and traditional methods.

Jerry earned his Master of Architecture degree from Andrews University in 2019, where he received the AIA Henry Adams Medal. His career in Maine began with a design-build firm specializing in traditional timber framing.

He has always been drawn to residential design, recognizing that homes are profoundly personal, and when carefully considered, can provide not only shelter and comfort but also a sense of clarity and optimism. He enjoys the process of discovering how to fit a home to its owner as much as to its site, and feels that when our homes respect and respond to their natural surroundings, they can inspire us to do the same.

Jerry believes that his best thinking is done outdoors with a pencil and sketchpad in hand. In his free time, he enjoys music, woodworking, exploring, and spending time with his wife and two children.
