With great excitement, we’re happy to announce that Jessie Carroll recently met all of the requirements for licensure, including passing the last of her architectural registration exams. Following a few logistical steps required by each state, Jessie will soon be considered a licensed architect in both Massachusetts and Maine!
I can tell you from experience, that this event can be a monumental relief in the life of a young architect.
The path to licensure for Jessie, is an achievement that has been 10 years in the making. After receiving her Master of Architecture (M.Arch) degree from Northeastern University School of Architecture, Jessie spent the required 3 years, meeting various internship requirements required by the profession. She then sat for all seven exams that cover among other things, Site Planning & Design, Schematic Design, Building Design & Construction, Structural Systems, and Building Systems.
Jessie joined Whitten Architects last summer, and has become an invaluable member of our team. Her passion for well-considered home design has definitely brought added energy and more architectural conversation to the studio. We look forward to many more years of having her around.
Oh and yes … Portland coffee shops will never be the same!
