We're Hiring an Architectural Designer

Established in 1986, Whitten Architects practices residential architecture in the Northeast at a variety of scales and in a wide range of architectural languages. The studio’s work has been recognized by numerous awards and delighted clients.

We are seeking an Architectural Designer to join our studio in Portland, Maine. This is an on-site position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Produce clear, detailed architectural drawings and 3D models primarily with ArchiCAD

-Support and collaborate with project leaders including conducting site visits, maintaining clear and thoroughproject notes, and communicating with builders, consultants, and clients as needed by the team

-Provide client-focused service

-Lead or assist in the assembly of design presentations

REQUIREMENTS:

-3-5 years of professional experience

-A passion for residential architecture and a love for nature

-NAAB-accredited Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)

-Knowledge of wood frame construction. Hands-on experience in construction is a plus

-Proficiency in creating construction documents. ArchiCAD experience is a plus

-Understanding of building science fundamentals

-Maine resident or willing to relocate to work on-site
