Whitten Architects is the "Real Deal", we take "a modern-day approach to old-school Yankee sensibilities." **
Design New England's November / December issue highlights our design for Dash Landing Farmhouse in Freeport, Maine. A 2,500 square foot, high-performance home, that sits at the edge of a beautiful open field.

Our site-specific design uses dense woods, to the north, to block northerly winter winds. A large mudroom leads to the east-facing kitchen that benefits from morning sun. Dining and living are oriented to the south for plenty of daylight throughout the day. Sunset views can be enjoyed from the west-facing screen porch. The home and décor, by interior designer Krista Stokes, provide one-floor living for a couple that wanted a connection to the outdoors in all seasons.
Thanks to the hard work of Rousseau Builders the farmhouse design now compliments the field and the surrounding village that we've admired for years. We're happy to get fan mail from the neighbors.
